Chapter President
Carolyn N. Daly, is the President of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Ms. Daly is a Certified Matrimonial Law Attorney in New Jersey. She is trained in collaborative divorce, is a divorce mediator and was trained as an arbitrator through the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Principal of Daly & Associates, LLC in Morristown, NJ, Carolyn represents clients with matrimonial and family law needs, including divorce litigation, domestic violence and sexual abuse, custody and parenting time issues, alimony and child support, division of complex assets such as restricted stock units, stock options, deferred compensation, businesses and enforcement of settlement agreements. She prides herself on a pragmatic, no-nonsense approach to resolving family law matters in a manner that best serves her client and their family. She has a diverse legal background, focusing on family law after having practiced in several other areas, which helps her identify issues that are often overlooked in family law matters. A member of the NJ State Bar Association, Family Law Section, Carolyn has served as a member of the Family Law Executive Committee for several years. She serves on the Morris County Child Support Partnership Committee and has been an Early Settlement Panelist in Morris County since 2005. Carolyn sat on a committee which assisted in the formation of the Morris Family Justice Center. She also helped launch a supervised visitation program in Morris County called “Family Matters.” Carolyn is a supporter of the Battered Women Legal Advocacy project where she volunteers as an attorney for domestic violence victims. She has also served as a volunteer attorney with the Partners for Women and Justice Clinic.Ms. Daly wrote an article entitled “College Contribution: A Contrarian View” for the New Jersey Family Lawyer and a chapter entitled “What To Do When Your Spouse Says “I’m Out of Here!” for a book entitled “How to Survive Your Financial Crisis.” She has lectured at continuing legal education courses on child support, college contribution, DCPP, interstate custody and interstate support, tracing and locating assets, as well as the intersection between criminal law and family law. She appeared on Princeton TV for a segment on domestic violence. Ms. Daly is routinely appointed by the court as a mediator, Guardian ad Litem and Parent Coordinator and recently completed the AFCC training on Parent Coordination. Selected to Super Lawyers, Carolyn has been included in its Top 100 Lawyer list and Top 50 Women Lawyers list for several years. The Super Lawyer list is issued by Thomson Reuters.
